Flip Ultra HD vs. Kodak Zx1 – which will capture my heart?
I have been lusting after the Flip camcorder ever since it came out, and really, who could blame me? I love all things techy and small, and the Flip packs a lot of features into a small package. However, my Canon SD750 was proven to take video that is just as good, if not a little BETTER, than the original Flip. So, I held off on getting one because I didn’t think it was a good deal if I already …

Guest Post: WRT610N Router Review
An hour with the WRT610N, or How I Finally Have Decent WiFi By Keith Shapiro Back Story Before the WRT610N, I had spent a grand total of $10 on wireless technology. If the adage is true, you can imagine that with what I’d paid for, I’d not gotten a lot. I did however, have a cheapy ZyXel P-330W wireless-G router ($10) and a D-Link Wireless-G router I got from Freecycle. The D-Link? Like every piece of D-Link equipment I’ve owned, …

Pimping my Mini (already)
My Apple decals arrived today in the mail, so you know I had to make my pretty Mini even prettier (though I am sure John from Dell is probably dying a little inside, sorry John!). The rainbow stickers from icolours.ca were cute, but they were too small and also too thin to cover the Dell logo. No real loss, they were cheap, they’re still cute, and I already put one of the two I purchased on my WD Passport drive …

24 Hours with the Dell Mini 9
Well, I have had my Dell Mini 9 for a day now, and I have to say…I think this is what love feels like. When I got to the office yesterday morning, my boss met me almost at the door with my Dell box in hand. FedEx had apparently just delivered it, and he knew how excited I was to be getting my Mini at long last. I did take some unboxing pictures, even though I was super impatient to …

It’s Dell Mini 9 Eve!
I got the shipment notification on my Dell Mini 9 today, and imagine my surprise when the tracking information showed that it shipped Wednesday night (instead of Friday, as the automated order status line had told me) for arrival TOMORROW! Picture me almost falling out of my office chair from sheer glee and you have my reaction. So it’s Dell Mini Eve and it feels like tomorrow is Christmas Day. Instead of hanging my stocking with care, I pored I …

CompUSA rises from the dead (is it a zombie?!)
So, apparently Dallas-originated CompUSA filed for bankruptcy and closed their stores only to return as a sister company to Tiger Direct. They’re rolling out slowly, but one has landed practically in my suburban backyard (better known as the eastern border town of Plano, according to Kurt Loder). They’re adopting a “retail 2.0″ mindset, which apparently includes full Internet access on every single computer in the store. Take THAT, Worst Buy! Do you think they’re taking a page from the Apple …

Accessorizing my new Mini
Now that my Dell Mini 9 is on order, I have become obsessed with finding just the right accessories for it–a case (since Dell doesn’t ship it with one), some decorations, a Bluetooth travel mouse, a new SDHC card, etc. This is possibly my favorite part of buying a shiny new toy! I love getting a new gadget plus all the accoutrements to go with. So far, I’ve decided on a Hoodie Laptop Case by Built NY. I really love …

The Dell Mini 9 Countdown Begins!
Yesterday I pulled the trigger on a new Dell Mini 9. I am so jazzed to get it, but there is only one problem–it won’t be here until somewhere around April 24!! I already sold my Eee PC 701 to a friend, and now I face an empty, cold three weeks without a tiny laptop to keep me warm. I have taken to poring over the My Dell Mini forums for tips, tricks, and planning my Hackintosh netbook journey in …
